About Epsilon Sigma at-Large Chapter

Epsilon Sigma at-Large Chapter is a chartered local chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma). Our chapter brings together nursing students, practicing nurses, educators, researchers, and nurse leaders from across East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

Our at-large chapter includes five participating institutions: Lincoln Memorial University, East Tennessee State University, King University, Milligan University, and Emory & Henry University. Together, our members form a regional professional nursing community committed to scholarship, leadership, research, professional development, and service.

Our Purpose

Epsilon Sigma advances nursing leadership, scholarship, research, professional development, and service. Through collaboration among members across our region, we create opportunities for nurses and nursing students to connect, grow, lead, and make a meaningful difference in healthcare and their communities.

What We Do

  • Provide scholarships to nursing students
  • Support nursing research and scholarly projects through chapter grants
  • Host an annual Research Day and other educational programs
  • Recognize and develop nurse leaders
  • Promote professional networking, service, and member engagement
  • Host the Run for the Scrubs 5K to support future nurses

Our Impact

In 2025, our inaugural Run for the Scrubs 5K raised enough to provide more than $10,000 in nursing scholarships. At our 2026 Research Day, we welcomed 125 attendees, awarded scholarships to nursing students representing each of our five participating institutions, and recognized recipients of chapter research and scholarship grants.

Chapter Leadership

Epsilon Sigma is led by nursing professionals from across our five participating institutions. The chapter's officers, counselors, and committee leaders work collaboratively to support members, programs, scholarships, research, and community service.
